Typ XXVII B5 Seehund

U-5329 (Typ XXVII B5 Seehund), Jumuiden, February 1945

During several months I was going to build something different from armor but in my favorite 1/35 scale. The most suitable were midjets from Verlinden and I started the series of minisubs with Seehund. I decided to build U-5329 of Leutenant zur See Ulrich Muller which was photographed in Jumuiden in February 1945. I liked the beautiful dotted camouflage of this U-Boot. The model was built with slight conversion of the deckhouse for the maximum corresponding to the prototype.

The painting was made with Tamiya acrylics XF-24 and XF-19. Then the SIN filters for panzer grey vehicles were applied. Washing and rust – 502 Abt paints Wash Brown and Light Rust. The chips made with Vallejo acrylics. Markings are Microworld dry transfers.

Wow…All betuay above the waterline, and all business below. I’ve been thinking lately of how much better most plastic sailboats would look with a nice classic deck-house like this. Definitely adding to the wish-list.
